Jones's own bars put it at Powder 10/10, All-Mountain 7/10 and Freestyle 3/10 — powder first, not a park board.

The profile is rocker, camber, rocker. Up front, the lifted nose and the High 3D Contour Base (Jones rounds the base up at the tips, so they drag less and the nose climbs sooner) get it planing early, while the cambered waist supplies the bite. High Traction Tech adds serrated grip zones along the running edge, for more bite on firm and icy snow. The build: a Control Core of paulownia and poplar, triaxial glass, an ash wood veneer, and a Bcomp Carbon/Flax stringer that Jones names and never explains. Springy carbon, damping flax: ordinary material behavior, and our read, not a Jones claim. Base is a Sintered 8000: fast, and hungry for wax.

It fits a directional rider, intermediate through expert, who points the board down the fall line and wants float and edge hold out of one deck. It is the wrong board for switch and park riders, which is what a true twin is for; for a first-season rider who wants something soft, because a 4/5 flex has to be driven rather than steered; and for the expert chasing maximum stiffness and damping, which is what the Flagship PRO is built for (Power Core, Koroyd, Basalt, Sintered 9900, 5/5). This one is the Control Core and Sintered 8000 build.

The board is sold on its own; bindings are extra. Jones pairs it with its own Mercury FASE and lists the plain Mercury as the other match. We stocked six lengths: 151, 154, 158, 161, plus the 156W and 159W. Wides are there for boots that run about a US 11 or bigger, so heel and toe clear the snow when the board is over on edge. Boot length decides width, not the scale. The base is better documented: a High 3D Contour Base, nose and tail rounded upward so the tips catch and drag less and the board lifts sooner in soft snow, over a Sintered 8000 that runs fast and drinks wax. On its terrain bars it takes All-Mountain 8/10, Powder 10/10, Freestyle 5/10.

The build is plain by design: a full-wood Master Core, biax fiberglass, Sintered 8000 base, Premium topsheet. No Koroyd, no basalt, no carbon/flax stringer. Two-axis glass gives up torsional stiffness a three-axis layup would keep, so the board twists into a turn early and comes in light, 2.7kg at the 156.

The float is in the shape: the nose rockers clear of the snow, the tail runs narrower than the nose, and a Medium 3D Contour Base with 3D Flip Tips rounds the tip and tail edges so they skim rather than dig in. Waists run 27.1cm on the 147 and 27.5cm on the 152 — more width underfoot than many boards' wide sizes. Inside sits a Master Core under biax glass, with the Bcomp Carbon Flax stringer that Jones names but never explains.

What Jones does explain is the base. A High 3D Contour Base — the top of the three grades it prints — shapes nose and tail so snow is displaced from beneath the base and the nose lifts toward the surface. An edge gets rolled into a turn rather than tipped into one. Turns come around fast: a 6.6m sidecut on the 147, 6.9m on the 152. If your home mountain is firm groomers most weeks, the Low grade and a 3/5 flex come up short. Park and switch are off the table at Freestyle 2/10, with a notch cut out of the tail. Read them as build spec rather than a promise.

Four lengths, all Black: 142, 145, 148, 151, with the 142 new this season. Waists climb 24.1 / 24.3 / 24.5 / 24.7cm while the sidecut opens 7.2 / 7.4 / 7.6 / 7.8m, so a short deck shuts a turn down early and a long one runs it further out. The 148 weighs 2.4kg. No wide width is printed anywhere in this run, and 24.7cm is as broad as the platform gets, so a large boot has to be measured against the edge first.

Aimed at a directional rider from solid intermediate up: steeps, trees, broken ground, and whatever features turn up on the way down. It is the wrong board for beginners, for the park and switch rider who should be on a symmetric twin, and for anyone counting on a rockered nose to do the floating. It arrives bare. Jones prints two factory pairings on the page, the Aurora and the Mercury FASE; PTO keeps the Aurora in stock.

The Women's Stratos is Jones's hybrid all-mountain board: a directional freeride shape at a medium 3/5 flex, scored 10 for powder, 8 for all-mountain and 4 for freestyle. The men's version takes a 5 there, on the same core and glass.

Profile is Directional Camber/Rocker: rocker nose, camber underfoot, rocker tail, with Medium taper in the outline. A High 3D Contour Base shapes the tips where the edges meet snow. Jones states the payoff: less friction at the contact points, no catch crossing edge to edge, and a nose that lifts in soft snow. Rocker costs edge hold, which is why the steel gets High Traction Tech: serrations that hand the grip back.

Power Core, Biax fiberglass, a Bcomp Carbon Flax Stringer, Premium Topsheet, Float Pack inserts. Biax glass runs its fibers on two axes, not three; the missing axis is the one that resists twist, so the deck goes on edge easily. The stringer and the Float Pack are named but never explained.

Sintered 8000 underneath: quick, and only while there is wax in it. It is also a Flip-Flop Base — Jones presses this model in two base colors to cut P-Tex waste and fills orders with either, so we cannot promise which color arrives.

PTO stocked five lengths in White, 140 through 152, from a catalog run that goes on to a 155. Waists step 23.3cm to 24.4cm and the radius opens 5.9m to 6.7m across them. A 149 weighs 2.6kg. No wide width exists in the run at any length, so a bigger boot risks overhang.

Built for a directional rider from intermediate up whose day starts in deep snow, and who would rather have a quick arc in the trees than a long one on an open face. It is the wrong board for the park and switch rider; the true-twin Women's Tweaker 2.0 exists for that. Nor is it the board for a hardpack-only rider chasing long carves; the full-camber Airheart 2.0 grips truer there. It ships flat. Rocker at both ends lifts the tips clear of the surface; the camber left underfoot is what still bites once the snow firms up. 3D Flip Tips, plus a Medium 3D Contour Base, pull more base area out of the snow at the ends. Rocker costs edge grip, though, and Traction Tech is Jones's answer to that: graded Medium here, it serrates the running edge so the steel meets the snow at more points than a plain one.

Under the Premium Topsheet: a Master Core, a two-axis Biax glass layup and a Sintered 8000 base. That is the entire list — no stringer, no basalt, no Koroyd. Flex is 2/5, the friendly end of Jones's five-point scale, and the 148 weighs 5 lbs (2.3 kg) bare. The sidecut is the number to read twice: 6.7m at the 142, 6.9m at the 145, 7.1m at the 148; waists go 23.7 to 24.1cm.

Storm chasers and tree riders are the target: soft snow, short turns, moderate pace, float you do not work for. PTO reads it as intermediate and up; Jones prints no ability rating. Ask it for speed on hard snow and the soft flex runs out of composure, and it will not hold a long, patient carve. For park and switch, buy a twin.
