The RS 110 MV sits at the entry point of Lange's RS race line, and that context matters when you pick it up in the shop. The shell is a classic 4-buckle overlap construction built around a 100mm medium-volume last — roomy enough for a normal-width foot, narrow enough to hold you with precision through a carved turn. The Dual Core shell blends harder and softer polyurethane in targeted zones so the 110 flex feels lively underfoot without the dead-arm sensation you sometimes get from a pure race shell. Four aluminum ALU Race Micro buckles articulate with the shell rather than fight it, so when you cinch them down the closure is progressive — you feel the boot tighten evenly from foot to cuff rather than just pinching at the ankle. The Race Flex Adjust plate at the back of the cuff replaces the two conventional screws most racers know; it lets a bootfitter dial the flex characteristic finer without introducing slop. The Dual 3D Pro liner comes pre-shaped to the shell and is heat-moldable, so your first shop fitting session — or a revisit if hot spots develop — is worth every minute. The sole is a solid alpine race sole marked ISO 5355 — it is not GripWalk, and it cannot be swapped for one, so it needs an alpine binding that accepts an ISO 5355 sole. There is no walk mode or hiking position on this boot, and the hard flat sole is slick on pavement.

This boot is built for expert-level skiers: instructors, club racers, and strong recreational skiers who spend most of their time on groomed terrain and want a boot that transmits their input immediately. The 110 flex, within the RS line, is aimed specifically at lighter-framed skiers or those who find a 120 or 130 genuinely too stiff to ski all day — it is not a beginner or intermediate boot, and it is not forgiving of poor technique. The 100mm MV last is the middle of the RS range; if your foot runs narrower than 98mm or you have a genuinely low-volume foot, the RS 110 LV at 97mm will hold you better and transfer more efficiently — the MV will feel loose and you will over-tighten the buckles to compensate. If your foot is wider than 101mm or you have a high instep, this shell will compress you in all the wrong places; the Shadow line at 102mm is worth trying instead. Come in and get fitted — flex and last width both have to match your foot and your skiing, and getting one wrong undermines the other.
