The Smith Glide Jr. Mips is a lightweight junior ski helmet built around Mips rotational protection and a dial fit — Smith's lightest kids lid, made so a young skier keeps it on all day without a fuss.
An in-mold shell brings it to about 350g, and the DFS2 dial lets you or your child snug the fit by hand over a thin beanie. It carries Mips and meets the full ASTM F2040 and EN 1077:2007 Class B certification — the same standard the adult helmets do, not a lighter kids rating. It comes in youth sizes from 48 to 59 cm and is cut to pair cleanly with Smith's youth goggles, and most colorways carry Mips (a non-Mips version sells for less).
A helmet only protects when it fits, so bring your child in and we will measure their head, set the dial to a snug, level fit, and match it to a goggle so there is no forehead gap. Buying online? Measure just above the ears and we will confirm the size — and please fit to now, not to grow into, since a loose helmet undoes the protection.
