Stockli Orea AX Skis 2026/2027

The Stöckli Orea AX is a unisex all-mountain carving ski with an 80 mm waist — the premium-finish twin of the Montero AX, built in Stöckli's own Swiss factory. Known as the Montero AX Orea last season, it carries the Orea AX name in this season's workbook. The finish is the point of the ski: black racing sidewalls, an embossed topsheet with an integrated badge, and a black Strive 13D demo binding on the system version.

Underneath the surface design sits a piste-first carver. A poplar-light and beech wood core carries Titanal cut in at the tip and tail, so the extremities flex into the turn while the metal keeps the ski stable. All-mountain tip rocker and a tail rocker ease turn entry and release, and the contact length adapts with edge angle — tip it higher on firm snow and more of the edge engages. The racing sidewalls are the construction item printed for this ski and not for the standard Montero AX; Stöckli credits them with additional stability in turns.

This is a ski for skiers who carve groomed snow with active forward pressure: the independent test of last season's ski put its edge grip at the top of the scale and its temperament firmly in advanced-to-expert territory. Skiers who should pass: anyone chasing float in soft snow — testers called flotation the weakness at this width — cautious or passive skiers, and value-first buyers, because the Montero AX offers the same published geometry without the design premium.

Five lengths run from 163 to 183 cm on a single 123-80-112 sidecut, with the turn radius growing from 13.5 m on the shortest length to 17.5 m on the longest — pick by the arc you want as much as by height.
