About the Product
The Smith Accel Mips is Smith’s do-it-all resort helmet, the model where the brand’s Koroyd-and-Mips protection meets the fit and vent hardware that cheaper lids leave off. It is built for skiers who spend the day lapping groomers, trees, and the odd storm cycle and want one helmet that covers all of it.
Protection comes from a pairing of systems. Zonal Koroyd places energy-absorbing tubes in the key impact zones, and the Mips layer addresses the twisting forces of an angled fall. Both sit inside a one-piece in-mold shell that keeps size M at 450g, and the whole thing is certified to ASTM F2040 and CE EN 1077:2007 Class B.
Comfort is where the Accel earns its keep. Turn the rear dial and the fit tightens 360 degrees around your head; slide the Regulator and airflow opens or closes as the weather changes. The liner treats odor and bacteria over long weekends, the shell pairs with Smith goggles, and it plays with Aleck audio for skiers who like music on the lift.
