About the Product

The Black Crows Atris Birdie is a women's freeride ski, 105 mm underfoot — the everyday big-mountain model of the women's Birdie line. It's built for skiers who see fresh snow regularly: Black Crows positions it as accessible and versatile, a ski that excels in powder yet behaves in every other condition, and independent testing largely agrees with that read.

The build is deliberately simple. A poplar wood core with fiberglass — no metal anywhere — sits in a semi-cap layup whose ABS sidewalls run the full length of the ski, and reviewers describe rockered tips and tails over camber underfoot. On snow, that adds up to a ski testers call poppy, quick and easy to move for its width, with grip on steep, firm snow that outruns what a 105 usually offers. What it doesn't do is imitate a metal ski's damp, locked-down ride, and moguls are its weakest tested category.

There is no separate women's construction story here, and that's worth saying plainly: the 26/27 Atris Birdie shares its construction with the unisex Atris, and the official spec tables match digit for digit at the lengths the two share. The Birdie is the same ski in a women's size run — 160.2 to 178.4 cm — with its own turquoise graphic. Choose between them by length, not by label.

It suits upper-intermediate to expert women who ski the whole mountain and can feed it soft snow often. If your days are mostly groomers, the narrower Camox Birdie 97, Captis Birdie 90 or Sato Birdie 88 will serve you better; if you chase the deepest days, the wider 115 mm Anima is a step up in float — there's no Anima Birdie this season, and the Anima starts at 176.6 cm.

The Atris Birdie ships flat, so a binding is a separate purchase. We mount it, match the brake to the waist, and help you land on the right length in-shop.

Tech Specs

Fiber & resin: 90° Carbon fibers stitched into the glass. Extra pop and response, without adding extra stiffness.
Profile: More camber!
Core: High strength Aspen is combined with Bamboo and lightweight Paulownia wood to provide the perfect balance of strong and light.
Base: The highest grade carbon-infused sintered base material available. Designed for speed.
Side cut: A twin sidecut which allows for the underfoot width of a wide board in the tip/tail width of a standard size. This design provides improved leverage on landings, grip through turns, and stability on flat base.
Shape: Designed to be ridden in one direction. More nose than tail, set back stance, and a sidecut to match. Can you still ride it switch? Yeah, of course. Is it going to be as good riding switch all day long? Probably not.
