About the Product

The Black Crows Atris is a 105mm freeride ski built for powder days, trees, steeps and soft chop, with composed manners on the groomed run back to the lift. Black Crows programs it as the line's everyday big-mountain ski, a slot it has held since 2014, and the 26/27 edition carries the proven construction unchanged under a new turquoise topsheet.

The build is deliberately simple: a poplar core with fiberglass laminate — no metal — in a semi-cap build with ABS sidewalls wrapping the ski. A rockered tip and tail wrap around camber underfoot, with a wide 136-140mm shovel over the 105mm waist and a 19-20m turn radius. Each piece has a job. The rockered ends drive the float and let the ski pivot and slash in tight terrain, the camber keeps a real edge on firm snow between storms, and the longer radius resists hooking when conditions turn rough. Skipping metal keeps the ride energetic and forgiving; the trade is damping, and when the chop turns heavy and fast the Atris can get knocked around where a metal-laminate ski stays planted.

It suits advanced and expert freeriders at mountains that see real snowfall — skiers who want genuine float without committing to a dedicated powder ski, and who value pivot and pop over a locked-down feel. Strong progressing intermediates can grow into it. Groomer-first skiers should pass: piste carving here is competent, never the point. Skiers counting grams for the skin track belong on Black Crows' Navis Freebird instead, and within the line the 97mm Camox suits mixed resort days while the 115mm Anima is the deeper-day tool.

The Atris comes in four lengths from 172.1 to 190.2cm, with shorter sizes covered by the Atris Birdie at the same width. It is sold flat, so a binding is a separate purchase — we mount it and help you settle length and binding choice in-shop.

Tech Specs

Fiber & resin: 90° Carbon fibers stitched into the glass. Extra pop and response, without adding extra stiffness.
Profile: More camber!
Core: High strength Aspen is combined with Bamboo and lightweight Paulownia wood to provide the perfect balance of strong and light.
Base: The highest grade carbon-infused sintered base material available. Designed for speed.
Side cut: A twin sidecut which allows for the underfoot width of a wide board in the tip/tail width of a standard size. This design provides improved leverage on landings, grip through turns, and stability on flat base.
Shape: Designed to be ridden in one direction. More nose than tail, set back stance, and a sidecut to match. Can you still ride it switch? Yeah, of course. Is it going to be as good riding switch all day long? Probably not.
