About the Product

The Burton Women's Limelight BOA is a medium-flex all-mountain snowboard boot — Burton rates it 4 to 7 on its 1-to-10 scale, so call it a true medium that leans responsive rather than soft. It runs a dual-zone BOA closure: one dial tightens the upper cuff laces and a second dial independently snugs the lower foot zone, so you can dial in instep hold and ankle wrap separately without one adjustment fighting the other. The shell is lasted specifically for women's foot geometry, with a lower cuff profile and a snugger heel pocket — Burton calls it 1:1 Boot Lasting, meaning the Imprint 2 liner and the shell are shaped to agree with each other rather than leaving dead space. That liner is heat-moldable, so we can put it in the oven here in the shop and wrap it around your foot in about 20 minutes; this is a Total Comfort boot that already rides well out of the box, and the molding just gets you to that locked-in custom fit on day one instead of waiting on natural pack-out. For warmth you get 3M Thinsulate insulation, which holds up in damp Cascade snow. The DynoGRIP outsole adds B3 Gel heel cushioning plus extra rubber at the toe and heel for grip walking through the lift maze. Note it is a BOA boot, not a Step On boot — it works with any standard strap or rear-entry binding, not Burton's Step On system.

This boot is made for intermediate women riders who want enough response to start carving and laying turns on edge, but don't want a punishing stiff flex that fights them on mellow groomers or in the park. If you're coming off rentals and riding two or three weeks a season across groomed runs and the occasional side hit, the Limelight BOA is an honest step up. That said, be clear about what it is not: if you have a narrow, low-volume foot, the standard Limelight's fit can leave too much room in the forefoot and rob you of the heel hold that actually drives a board — you'll want to try the standard on one foot and the Wide on the other before you commit, or look at a narrower-lasted option. And if you're an advanced or aggressive rider who wants a flex above a 7 to hold an edge at speed, this boot will feel a touch soft for you and you're looking at a stiffer tier entirely. Come in and we'll put both on your feet, because the right flex and the right last width together are the whole game.
