About the Product
The Navigator is Capita's dedicated float-and-charge board built around their Resort V2 Directional profile, which runs camber between the inserts for edge hold and pop, then blends into elevated contact points and flat-kick tip and tail arcs. That construction does real work: the cambered underfoot section gives you genuine snap off the tail and reliable bite on groomed terrain, while the raised contact points let the nose lift naturally in powder rather than diving. The directional shape carries a tapered tail and 0.8-inch setback, so the board naturally wants to load the nose in soft snow without you having to fight it. Flex is 5.5 out of 10 and asymmetric — the nose runs softer and the tail is noticeably stiffer, which suits the freeride intent. The Hover Core keeps weight down without sacrificing dampening, and the Technora Flax Boosters in the layup absorb trail chatter without going dead. It turns on a parabolic sidecut that produces smooth, consistent arc rather than a pinpoint carve, and the HyperDrive sintered base runs fast and takes a wax well.
This board is aimed at intermediate to advanced riders who spend most of their days chasing soft snow — pow days, trees, slush, variable off-piste — and want one board that handles it all without demanding full expert aggression. If that's you, the Navigator works. If you ride mostly hard-groomed or icy resort terrain, the edge hold is average at best and can wash out at speed; it ranked poorly against all-mountain boards tested specifically on hard pack and ice. Likewise, if you want to hit rails, boxes, or park features with any frequency, this is the wrong tool. Riders who want a board that can cover both pow and the full mountain with equal confidence, including reliable carving performance, should look at the Capita Mercury instead.
