About the Product
The HEAD Raptor WCR 130S PV is a race-department boot built around a narrow 96mm last and a polyurethane shell. HEAD has tuned the PU blend on the WCR generation for a touch more fore-aft give, so power transfer stays aggressive while the shell loads progressively and damps some of the harshest chatter on hard, icy snow. The flex is a genuine 130, adjustable up to 140 via a rear tuning screw if your skiing demands it, and the four micro-adjustable Spineflex aluminum buckles let you fine-tune forefoot and cuff tension to dial in the wrap. The WCR Pro liner uses Liquid Fit: in about ten minutes at an authorized dealer, a heat-moldable material is injected to conform to your ankle and heel pocket, killing the dead space and pressure points a standard liner leaves behind. There is no walk mode and no GripWalk sole — this boot runs a FIS-approved alpine race sole, flat and slippery on hardwood floors, which is exactly what it's supposed to be. FIS approval is race homologation, not a binding-interface standard, and HEAD publishes no ISO 5355 or GripWalk claim for this boot — have a technician confirm your binding accepts this sole before mounting.
This boot is for an expert or race-level skier with a genuinely narrow, low-volume foot — the 96mm last has a deep heel pocket and an extended toe box built for feet that already fit that profile. If your foot runs wide, or if you carry significant volume across the instep or forefoot, this boot will cause pain before it causes speed, and no amount of buckle tightening fixes a shell that's the wrong shape. Intermediate skiers should stay away: a 130-flex race boot punishes any hesitation in your stance and rewards only committed, technically clean skiing. Note that HEAD's other Raptor WCR boots — the 120 and 140 — share this same 96mm race last, so a softer flex won't buy you a wider fit; if you need real room, you're looking at a higher-volume boot from a different last entirely. Come in and get your foot measured — last width and volume have to match the shell before any other fitting conversation makes sense.
