Jones Men's Meteorite Snowboard Binding 2026/2027

The Jones Meteorite is a traditional two-strap snowboard binding with a soft 2-of-5 flex. Jones's own headline for it is "the friendly all-mountain binding," and its three published terrain scores read all-mountain 10, freestyle 9, freeride 7. A size-M pair weighs 1.68 kg.

Entry is the classic ritual: toe strap, ankle strap, ratchet twice. Those levers are Jones's ZyTech — Zytel fiber composite, stainless-steel springs and axis, with a triple-action ratchet that Jones specs to speed up strapping in. If skipping the strapping-in is what you are actually after, Jones's FASE fast-entry bindings are the other branch of the family. The Meteorite is not one of them.

Two riding modes are built into the same hardware. Freeride mode runs hard bushings with the wide half of the ankle strap above the buckle — Jones's locked-in, maximum-response setting. Surf mode inverts it: wide half below the buckle, soft bushings, heel still supported but the ankle free to move. The soft set is what Jones lists as included, so the Meteorite reaches you in Surf mode. Whether a hard pair is also in the carton, Jones never prints — ask, and we will open one on the counter.

The rest of the parts list is names: Skate Tech, Flushcup, Hanger 2.0, a Dynamic Flex highback, Power ankle straps, 3D Flex Fit 2.5 toe straps. Those parts are fitted. Their mechanisms are unpublished, and we will not fill in the blank for Jones.

Mounting. One disk, three hole patterns — 4x4, 2x4, and Burton's Channel (EST). Those three systems cover 4x4, 2x4 and EST/Channel inserts.

Size to the boot, never to your body weight. S takes a US 5–7, M a US 7.5–10, L covers US 10.5 and larger. Colors: Snow White, Eclipse Black, Smoke Gray and Rallycat White — note that Smoke Gray is stocked here in M and L only. Coverage runs for life on the Hanger and the Post, one year on every other part.
