MARKER Squire 11 Bindings 26/27

The Marker Squire 11 is an alpine binding with a DIN 3-11 range, built for intermediate and advanced skiers who ride the whole mountain. Marker files it under Freeride and Freestyle in the Royal Family line, and the design intent shows up in one number: it stands 24 mm above the ski, a height Marker credits for direct feel underfoot.

Up front sits the Triple Pivot Light 2, carrying an Anti Ice Rail, a metal strip Marker fits to keep the boot sole clear of packed snow and ice. Behind it, the Hollow Linkage 2 heel runs a wider boot holder. Marker's pitch for that heel is lower step-in effort, and it says the benefit survives on GripWalk soles. One caveat on how to read that pitch: the figure appears two different ways on the same Marker page, with no stated point of comparison, so treat it as "easier to click into" rather than a specification.

Compatibility is the part to settle before you buy. Marker states two sole norms for this binding: Alpine Adult Sole (ISO 5355 A) and GripWalk Adult Sole (ISO 23223 A). Touring soles (ISO 9523), WTR and junior soles are not addressed by Marker either way — if that is what you ski, ask us first.

Brakes come in 90, 100 and 110 mm and have to clear your ski's waist. We match the brake to your skis, mount them, and set your release values on a calibrated bench. The DIN window is an indicator scale rather than a measured release torque, so the number you actually ski is a technician's call against your own boot, not something to read off a web page.
