BlackCrows MIRUS COR 2026/2027

The Black Crows Mirus Cor is a swallowtail carving-freestyle ski — 87mm waist, 13m radius at every length — designed to be skied short. Black Crows frames it as an alliance of two worlds, angular piste carving on one side and freestyle play on the other, and the geometry backs that up: every length from 160.1 to 184.2cm carries the same 13m radius, so turns come in quick and tight whatever the size, and the brand's own advice is to go shorter than usual and play with the piste. It carries into 26/27 as a straight carryover — same geometry, same construction, same size run.

Underneath sits a poplar/fiberglass core in a semi-cap construction with ABS sidewalls all the way around, plus a single titanal plate — a mid-weight resort build at 1,700–1,925g per ski, neither a lightweight nor a race layup. The tip and tail carry a long rocker, and the tail is cut into a swallowtail. Black Crows publishes no rocker measurements, flex number or swallowtail mechanism, so none are claimed here. What you feel, per PTO's own three seasons on this ski, is a ski that rolls into short, angular carves willingly and stays soft enough through the middle to press, butter and land switch.

It suits skiers who turn constantly — groomers first, bumps and trees close behind — and comes especially naturally to anyone with a freestyle background. It is not a powder ski: 87mm with a soft-ish middle won't carry you past about six inches of fresh. It also gets pushed around in chop at speed, and edge grip on boilerplate ice is OK, not great. If your season includes regular off-piste days, look at the wider Vena Cor or Camox in the same line.

Five lengths — 160.1, 168.3, 173.2, 178.0 and 184.2cm — at $999. The Mirus Cor is sold flat, without bindings; we mount them and help you settle both the binding choice and the length question in the shop, where shorter than your usual all-mountain size is the starting point.
