About the Product

The Salomon Lotus is a women's-specific beginner-to-intermediate all-mountain board built around a profile Salomon calls Flat Out Camber — flat through the tip and tail, flat between the feet, and a pop of camber right underfoot. That small camber pocket gives you something to push against when you're learning to initiate turns, without the demanding all-or-nothing edge hold of a traditional full-camber board. Salomon's Bite Free Edges help here too: the contact points are detuned from the factory, so the board is far more forgiving if your weight drifts back or your edge angle isn't quite right. It won't make edge-catch impossible — no board does, and you can still wash out or catch if you get sloppy — but it lowers the consequences while you're building the habit. The flex sits at 1 out of 5 on Salomon's scale — their softest women's rating — built on a full-length aspen core with birchwood reinforcement at the inserts and biaxial low-density fiberglass laminates that keep the whole package light and easy to bend underfoot. Combined with the directional twin shape and 10mm of stance setback, the Lotus steers predictably in both directions but has a little extra material at the nose for confidence on groomed runs and mild variable snow. At slow-to-moderate speeds on groomers it feels forgiving and maneuverable; don't push it into hard carves at speed or anything resembling park work — it isn't built for that.

This board is for someone who is genuinely new to snowboarding or still in that early-intermediate zone where linking turns is the main goal. If you spent last season getting solid on greens and blues, the Lotus gives you room to build technique without gear that fights you. Who should not buy it: anyone who has already linked their turns confidently and is starting to explore steeper groomers, off-piste, or light park features will outgrow it within a season or two. That rider should skip the Lotus and look at the Salomon Rumble Fish instead — it runs a hybrid camber profile (rocker at the tip and tail with camber underfoot), a stiffer directional-twin flex, and is built precisely for the step up into intermediate and advanced all-mountain riding.
