About the Product
The Rossignol Speed 100 HV+ is a 4-buckle overlap boot built around a 104 mm last — that "HV+" designation is not marketing shorthand, it means a genuinely wider forefoot, a more open toe box, and extra ankle volume compared to a standard-width shell. The flex index sits at 100, which means it has real stiffness and drives energy through the ski when you load a turn, but it is not the kind of board-stiff race flex that punishes you on long runs. Rossignol's rear spine adjustment lets you dial that flex slightly softer or stiffer, which is a genuinely useful tweak without overpromising a radical range of change. The diagonal micro-adjust buckles cinch down consistently and hold without hot spots, and the Bi-Injected Easy Entry instep — softer plastic over the top of the foot — opens the overlap wider than a conventional shell so getting your foot in and out is less of a fight at the end of a cold day. The Full Custom liner is heat-moldable — we can put it in the oven here in the shop and press it to your specific foot shape, which gets you noticeably better heel hold and cuts the break-in period way down instead of grinding through several hard days. The boot ships with a standard replaceable ISO 5355 alpine sole; it is GripWalk-compatible, but those soles are sold separately, so confirm what you actually need before you walk out.
This boot is made for intermediate-to-advanced men's skiers — someone who can run groomed blues and blacks comfortably, skis a few weeks a season, and has a wider-than-average foot, particularly in the forefoot or across the toes. If you have a narrow foot or a low-volume instep, the 104 mm last will feel sloppy and you will fight for heel hold that just is not there — we would steer you toward a narrower medium-volume shell instead, like Rossignol's own Hi-Speed Pro line in a 100 mm MV last, and fit you in the flex that matches your skiing. On the other side: if you are an aggressive, strong skier chasing performance and you happen to have a wide foot, a 100 flex in a high-volume shell is a specific combination and it works well — but if your skiing demand is pushing into expert or race territory, you will want a stiffer 120+ flex boot. Come in and get measured; last width and flex index both have to match the actual foot and the actual skier, and a wide shell on the wrong foot shape is one of the most common sources of boot-fit misery we see. The Speed 100 HV+ earns its place on the wall, but only for the right person.
