Bataleon Tornado x Beyond Medals 2026/2027

The Bataleon Tornado x Beyond Medals is a stiff, all-mountain freestyle snowboard built around a true-twin outline and Bataleon's catch-free 3BT base. Bataleon developed it with Tor Lundstrom and pitches it as a mix of the Goliath's charge and the Whatever's twin playfulness, so it pairs real power with a symmetrical shape you can ride and land switch. The inserts sit centered and the printed tip and tail widths match at every size, so the board turns the same in both directions.

What keeps it forgiving despite the stiffness is 3BT. Under your feet the center of the base runs positive camber for pop and edge grip, while toward the widest points of the nose and tail the two side bases gradually lift away from the snow. SideKick 2.0 raises those tips a little more just past their widest point. Because the outer edges sit slightly off the snow, the board is slow to catch: turns start easily and a flat or crooked landing is far less likely to hook you.

Bataleon puts the flex at a stiff 8, and Carbon Stringers add snap and drive, so this is a board for an advanced-to-expert rider with the weight and strength to bend it. It rewards riders who charge groomers, side hits and the whole hill, and it suits neither a jibber after a soft, playful board nor a beginner. On Bataleon's chart the powder bars run high, but a centered stance and an unpublished setback keep it from being a true directional pow board, so a powder-first rider should look elsewhere.

In Bataleon's range the Tornado sits between the fuller directional Goliath and the softer, more playful Whatever.
