Capita SB Slush Slashers 2.0 Snowboard 26/27

The CAPiTA SB Slush Slashers 2.0 is a directional, short-and-wide snowboard for slush and soft snow, wide underfoot at 26.3 to 26.6 cm, and at $429.95 the cheapest adult board CAPiTA makes. It is the entry point to the brand's Spring Break surf series, and it is built to be fun before it is built to be fast: a Directional 4 flex, soft on CAPiTA's own scale, the low-angle Surf Camber riding between two rockered tips, an elongated nose and the V-Shaped Vacation Tail that gives the model its name. Setback is half an inch, and the taper runs deep, growing from 20 mm on the shortest board to 35 mm on the longest.

The construction is honest entry-level, and that is the whole idea. Underfoot sits a Dual Core of poplar and beech; the glass is biaxial-only Special Blend; the base is a plain SuperDrive, which belongs to the sintruded class - quicker and harder-wearing than an extruded base, yet more forgiving of a skipped wax than a full sinter. One inlaid Alloy Skid Plate armors the tail, and there is no carbon anywhere in the deck. A single-radius sidecut on a short running edge makes each turn quick and predictable at unhurried speed. Read the whole package as forgiving and surfy, sized short and wide by rider weight rather than by height.

This is not a deep-snow specialist: CAPiTA's dedicated powder decks - the Spring Break Powder Glider or Powder Racers - run a different shape and a different base for that job. Nor is it a stiff carver or a park twin, so hard-charging, switch-first and powder-first riders each have a better board elsewhere in the line.
