关于产品
The Pisteworks 79 is DPS's first dedicated on-piste carving ski, designed with Ted Ligety around a no-metal carbon architecture: two full sheets of multidirectional pre-preg carbon over a proprietary wood core, plus a structural carbon Power Plate sitting directly underfoot where your boot puts force into the ski. There's no titanal here — DPS went pure carbon on purpose, and the payoff is a ski that's notably light for a carver but torsionally stiff enough to hold an edge at real speed. The 79mm waist and short 13m radius make it most at home in short-to-medium arcs on firm snow, though it'll happily open up to a longer turn when you want one. There's a touch of early rise in the tip to ease the entry into a turn, but the effective edge is long and the camber underfoot is genuine — this ski wants to be on a rail, not skidding the tails around. The carbon layup damps chatter without the heft of metal, and the flex has a liveliness to it that gives clear feedback: get your weight forward and onto your outside ski and it rewards you immediately. That feedback is a big part of why so many people end up skiing better on it than they expected.
This is a carving-first ski for the skier who shows up on a groomer day and actually wants to carve, not just point it and skid. It does ask you to stay engaged — drive the edges and commit, and it locks in and pulls you through the turn. Within carving, it's also one of the more approachable options out there: DPS and Ligety built it to flatter a developing carver rather than punish one, so an honest intermediate who's working on edge-to-edge turns can grow into it rather than get bucked off it. What it is not is a do-everything ski. Take it into bumps, off-piste, or a powder day and you'll fight it the whole way — at 79mm with a firm-snow design, it simply isn't built for that. If you want the same Pisteworks carbon feel but more room to roam when conditions get chopped up, the wider Pisteworks 89 (89mm waist, 16m radius) opens the turn shape up and gives you a more stable platform off the groomed line — that's the move if your days drift off hardpack, not because the 79 is too much ski to learn on.
