Faction Agent 2 Touring Skis 26/27

The Faction Agent 2 is a 96mm unisex touring ski — the middle width in Faction's carbon Agent line, and the one built to do a bit of everything. Faction rates it Float 5/10, the midpoint of the line. It is the Agent to reach for when you want a single ski that climbs efficiently on the skin track and then handles both hard and soft conditions on the descent, without committing to either extreme.

The line is arranged by width and float. The Agent 1 is the narrow 86mm climber (Float 3/10); the Agent 3 is the 106mm freeride end (Float 7/10); the Agent 2 sits between them. The right owner is a tourer who wants one versatile setup for mixed conditions — not a specialist built around firm-and-efficient climbing days or around deep soft snow.

Versatile means compromise, and this ski is honest about it. It does most touring jobs well rather than any single job best. Grams-first ski mountaineers chasing minimum weight should look at the narrower Agent 1; soft-snow-first skiers who want maximum float should size up to the Agent 3. It is a stable tourer rather than an ultralight one, so it is heavier on the climb than a race-weight carbon ski. Lift-only skiers are better matched to a resort all-mountain ski, and since the Agent line begins at intermediate, this is not a first pair of skis. Construction is all carbon and no metal — a Karuba woodcore, a full carbon weave, a full-strength sidewall, and extra-wide XL 2.5mm edges. The Agent 2 is sold flat, without bindings. Bring your boots and we will spec the right touring setup, mount it, and sort matching skins.
