Lange CODE 95 W BOA LV GW Ski Boots

The Lange CODE 95 W BOA LV is a women's freeride ski boot: a 97mm low-volume alpine shell with a walk mode, a BOA dial, and a factory GripWalk sole. CODE is Lange's new line for 2026/27, and it replaces the XT3 Free. The shell is polyurethane, the cuff is Lyfran, and Lange's Dual Core construction mixes harder and softer plastics through the shell so the flex ramps up rather than hits a wall. Inside is the Core Custom 3 liner with PrimaLoft insulation, on a Sport footbed. The BOA Fit System (H+i1) sits where the lower buckles would normally be: a geared dial wraps the lower shell and spreads the closing load instead of pulling at two points, which can help a narrow foot with a sensitive instep.

Flex 95 is Lange's number on Lange's scale. It places this boot at the soft end of the CODE ladder — 85, 95, 115, 140 — and it says nothing about another brand's 95. Lange's own words for it are "extra-soft, progressive." The last is 97mm, and the same boot in MV is 100mm at the same price, same flex, same shell and same liner, so choosing between the two is a fit question rather than a value question. Walk mode is Lange's new Active Blade, with a Friction Free Hinge and 53 degrees of cuff rotation. Lange has not published a weight for this boot; the 26/27 catalog prints WIP in the weight column.

The sole needs care. This boot ships with a GripWalk sole — the rubber blocks at forefoot and heel are stamped GRIP WALK and ISO 23223 — so it needs an alpine binding that declares GripWalk (ISO 23223) or MultiNorm compatibility. Not every alpine binding does. Separately, the boot carries tech pin inserts, which is a different interface: pins let it go into pin/tech touring bindings, and tell you nothing about the alpine sole question. We measure feet and fit the shell in-shop, and we check your bindings against the boot before anything is mounted and release-tested by a certified technician.
