Stockli Montero AS Skis 2026/2027

The Stöckli Montero AS is an all-mountain ski, 76 mm underfoot — the short-turn specialist of the Montero line, built for quick arcs on groomed snow. Stöckli bills it as a short-turn all-mountain slalom ski, and the geometry backs that up: every length shares one 127-76-107 mm sidecut, so length choice sets the radius — 12.6 m on the 160, up to 16.0 m on the 178.

The build is a sandwich: an All Mountain Core of poplar and beech under an aluminum layer. At the shovel and tail Stöckli cuts an S-shaped notch into that aluminum — the Tip and Tail Flex system — leaving the ends softer in both flex and torsion, so the ski enters and leaves the turn with fine precision while the middle stays solid. All Mountain Rocker plus a longer tail rocker keeps the release easy, and tilting the ski higher puts more edge into the snow. The base is Racing-Graphite, factory tuned at 1.5° base and 2.0° side. One multi-tester review found it lively and stable at once — silky smooth on hardpack, unshaken on ice.

It suits advanced and expert skiers who live on groomers and cross the odd patch of chopped snow. It is not a powder ski — 76 mm of waist buys quickness, not float — and it is not a long-radius high-speed cruiser; that job belongs to the Montero AR, 84 mm wide with 14.2-18.4 m radii. Stöckli's own skier level is Advanced, so beginners should start on something else. Between the two sits the Montero AX (80 mm), the versatile middle of the line.
