Stockli Nela 86 Skis 2026/2027

The Stöckli Nela 86 is a women's all-mountain freeride ski, 86 mm underfoot, completely redesigned for 26/27. It is the narrower of the two skis in Stöckli's new women's freeride line — the Nela 93 is the wider, powder-day sibling — and the lighter one: the workbook lists 1,425 to 1,554 g across its three lengths — per ski, we infer; Stöckli leaves the basis unlabeled — low for a ski with a Titanal surface.

That weight is engineered, not incidental. A poplar, beech and paulownia wood core sits under a Titanal layup finished with Stöckli's Titec Pro treatment, which prints the graphics directly on the metal and saves weight. Softflex construction thins the individual layers for a softer flex — Stöckli says plainly that light skiers benefit most from the easier bending — and the Thin Glass Laminate uses a fiberglass 25% lighter than its conventional counterpart without giving up stiffness. A Powder Rocker tip and the lighter, softer Freeride Tail round out a shape meant to start turns willingly and pivot without a fight.

One thing to know before buying: no independent on-snow test of this ski exists yet. It is a first-year redesign, and every account of how it rides — ours included — is built from Stöckli's own mechanism descriptions and one catalog-based preview, not from testers on snow. The previous-generation Nela 88 carries on at Stöckli as the Nela 88 Classic, and reviews of that older ski describe a different product.

The Nela 86 suits women who genuinely use both sides of the resort and want one light ski to do it, and it favors the lighter or less powerful skiers Softflex is aimed at. Skip it if deep snow is the priority — that is the Nela 93's job — or if you want a dedicated groomer carver, which in Stöckli's women's range is the Montero AW.
