About the Product

The Burton Custom X Camber is the hardest-charging board in Burton's lineup, built around a full camber profile — no early rise, no rocker, just continuous edge contact from tip to tail that rewards riders who can use it. That camber delivers spring-loaded pop off lips and precision on firm groomers, where the 8/10 stiff flex and Squeezebox High core profiling keep the board from washing out at speed. Squeezebox thickens the core underfoot for power and thins it toward the tips for lively rebound — you feel that in the snappy ollie pop and the way the tail loads and releases cleanly in hard carves. The Dragonfly 600G core with Multizone EGD lays end-grain wood in the impact zones for strength that doesn't add weight, and the 45° Carbon Highlights High-Voltage fiberglass runs diagonally across the whole deck to cut chatter when you're pushing edge angles. The directional outline gives you a slightly longer nose than tail — about 12.5mm of setback — which keeps the front hand from getting buried in variable snow without turning the board into a dedicated powder tool. Underfoot it's a sintered WFO base, thirsty for wax and genuinely fast. Mounting runs on Burton's The Channel, so stance adjustments are infinite and it works with any major binding brand.

This board is for expert riders who ride hardpack aggressively and consistently. If you're charging firm snow, hunting steep groomers, and occasionally hitting natural features at speed, the Custom X pays off. If you're an advancing intermediate, a park rider who lives on butters and presses, or someone who wants a board that forgives a mis-weighted turn, do not buy this board — the full camber and stiff flex will catch your edges and punish any hesitation. The standard Burton Custom Camber (flex 6/10, same Channel system) is the far better call for riders still building their all-mountain foundation, and the Custom X Flying V is the right move if you primarily ride powder or mixed-condition Pacific Northwest snow. The Custom X earns its place as a one-board quiver for riders who already know what they're doing and want the board to keep up.
