The Black Crows Camox Birdie is a women's all-mountain ski with a 97 mm waist — the fourth generation of Black Crows' everyday all-terrain platform, built to pivot and play rather than lock into long arcs. It shares its build with the unisex Camox: a semi-cap layup with full-perimeter ABS sidewalls over a poplar core and an ash reinforcement pocket, and no metal laminate anywhere in the official materials. The gen-4 redesign brought the turn radius down to 18 m, evened the flex and sharpened the pivot response.

That recipe suits women from progressing intermediate through expert who want one playful ski for the whole mountain — bumps, trees, side hits, mixed snow and groomers at resort speeds. A third-party listing puts the profile at rocker, camber, rocker — Black Crows does not publish the figures — and the shape shows: the ski releases and pivots easily, while the ash pocket (located underfoot, per the same listing) keeps its middle composed when the snow turns rough. Independent testing found the current generation steadier through chopped snow and at higher speeds than the ski it replaces.

It is not the right ski for three kinds of skier. Deep-powder chasers should step up to the 105 mm Atris Birdie — the Camox Birdie visits soft snow rather than floats over the deepest of it. Skiers after long, railed carving turns will be happier on the piste-oriented Serpo. And anyone counting grams or planning to tour should consider the Camox Freebird — this is a mid-weight resort ski, and it does not pretend otherwise.

Within the platform, the Camox Birdie is the short-length run — the 156.1 and 162.3 cm sizes exist only here, while the unisex Camox carries identical published specs at the shared lengths and runs longer.
