The CAPiTA Mega Mercury is a directional all-mountain/freeride snowboard, 25.7 cm at the waist on the 157, and CAPiTA's own rider-type row reads All-Mtn / Freeride. It is the regular Mercury rebuilt with the parts from the top of CAPiTA's range: the same directional, zero-taper, Death Grip outline, stiffened by half a step and re-cored with the brand's premium build. The order book files it under Freeride, and the catalog calls it an advanced machine, not a first board. What you are paying for is not a new shape but a better-built one.

The construction is the reason it exists. Its core is a 3D Thermopolymer Starship Core, the graded poplar and recycled-thermopolymer wood from the top of CAPiTA's range, which it shares with the Super D.O.A. Its glass is a Hybrid Carbon HolySheet layup - triaxial on both faces (TRI/TRI) with MegaCarbon woven into the weave - the stiffest in the Mercury family. A Resort V2 Directional hybrid camber with Flat Kick tips sits underfoot: camber between your feet for edge hold, lifted contact points and flat tips for landings and a little float. The running surface is MegaDrive XT, CAPiTA's sintered race base, backed by the Moonshot Omni-Tune structure. That base is quick when it is waxed and dull when it is not.

This is a deck for a strong, advanced-to-expert rider who charges steep, broken snow at speed and wants CAPiTA's top-tier build to do it. It is not a powder specialist - it runs zero taper - and it is not a bargain: it is the second most expensive solid deck CAPiTA sells, at $999.95, and the regular Mercury carries the identical outline for far less. Beginners, park and switch riders, and powder-first riders belong on other boards.
