Lange RS 120 MV Ski Boots

The Lange RS 120 MV is a race-derived overlap boot built around a 100mm medium-volume last and a 120 flex index — a flex rating that demands real quad strength and an aggressive stance to drive properly. The shell uses Lange's Dual Core construction, which blends harder and softer plastics in targeted zones to transmit energy without deadening the flex pattern, and the cuff includes a Race Flex Adjust plate at the rear that lets a bootfitter dial stiffness without introducing slop between shell and cuff. Four micro-adjustable aluminum buckles close the shell with precise, repeatable pressure, and the Dual 3D Full liner is pre-shaped around the heel and ankle with three high-density foam zones that can be heat-molded to the foot's specific geometry. That molded liner matters: a race-profile boot with a 100mm last sits snug around the midfoot, and a properly fitted liner eliminates the pressure points that otherwise make a stiff boot painful on long days. There is no walk mode and no GripWalk — this is a fixed alpine race sole (ISO 5355), built for the binding and not for walking, so expect it to be slick on pavement.

This boot is made for strong advanced and expert skiers — think level 8 and above, racers, instructors, and skiers who ski fast and want direct, unfiltered energy transfer on groomed and hard-pack terrain. If you are still building your technique, or if you only ski a few days a season, a 120 flex will fight you: the boot will not flex when you need it to, and you will ski in the back seat all day. Same goes for foot volume — if your foot is wide across the forefoot or high-instep, the MV last will compress you past the point of comfort no matter how good the liner is. In those cases we would point you toward the Lange RS 110 MV (same 100mm last, 10 flex points softer) if the fit is right but the flex is too much, or the Lange Shadow 120 MV if you want a walk mode and a GripWalk sole alongside comparable stiffness.
