Nitro Phantom+ Bindings 2027

The Nitro Phantom+ is a men's freeride snowboard binding built for precise turning and hard carving. Nitro rates it Response 9 and Comfort 10 on its own 1–10 scales, pairing a stiff, direct build with premium dampening. This is a binding for the intermediate-to-expert rider who spends the day laying trenches on groomers and charging through chop — not the park rider chasing a soft, playful flex.

The Premium Locked Down ankle strap and cable-reinforced, no-stretch ratchets keep the connection between boot and board tight, so edge input shows up underfoot with little lag — the direct feel the Response 9 rating points at. A 4mm heel rise, which Nitro says improves heel-edge response and control, is aimed at loading and holding the heel edge through a carve.

Underfoot, Air Dampening plus HYPER Foam — the combination Nitro calls "Air Plus Dampening" — keeps firm, chopped snow from feeling harsh despite the stiffness, while a 3° canted footbed angles the stance for natural body positioning over long days, which is the Comfort 10 side of the scorecard. The Übergrip Pro Integral toe strap wraps the toe box for a secure hold, and the Speedwheel 3.0 buckles crank the straps down fast.

The Phantom+ ships with Nitro's Universal Mini Disc, which Nitro lists as compatible with 2x4 insert boards and Burton Channel ("The Channel") boards; Nitro doesn't list 4x4, so if your board is 4x4-only or you're not sure of its pattern, send us the board model before ordering and we'll confirm the fit. It comes only in Ultra Black, and only in Medium and Large — there's no small size and no women's-specific version. Riders who want the all-mountain version should look at its sibling, the standard Phantom, which Nitro positions as an all-mountain interface — it swaps the Premium Locked Down ankle strap for a 3D OptiFrame Flex strap and doesn't have the 4mm heel rise.
