About the Product

The Rossignol Track 70 W, a women's-specific comfort boot, sits at the easy-going end of Rossignol's alpine range and is built for skiers still finding their feet rather than chasing performance. Its defining number is a 104mm last, which Rossignol classes as HV+ — a high-volume shape with room through the forefoot, instep and ankle for feet that snugger boots tend to pinch. Flex sits at a soft 70 on Rossignol's own scale (a figure that means nothing next to another maker's), so newer or lighter skiers can bend it without a fight. The shell is a light polyolefin using Rossignol's Sensor Matrix layout, with a softer bi-injected panel over the instep that opens the overlap up for stepping in and out. Inside, a Polar Fleece liner adds real warmth, and the cuff is cut short in a tulip profile to follow a woman's calf. Four aluminum buckles and a power strap handle closure — no BOA dial here.

Two cautions come with that generosity. A 104mm HV+ shape is genuinely wide, so a narrow or low-volume foot will slide around inside it — buckles cannot cinch a roomy shell onto a slim heel, and the honest fix is a snugger boot. The Hike Mode switch, likewise, is about getting around the resort on foot, not climbing: it loosens the cuff so you can move across the base area, though the boot sits on a standard alpine sole without pin fittings, and Rossignol gives no walk-mode angle for it. That alpine sole is what arrives in the box; GripWalk soles are sold on their own, and since the sole underneath decides which bindings are safe, a certified fitter should always verify the match and carry out a release test. Priced at $349.95, the Track 70 W is one of the more affordable, warmer, lighter comfort boots in its flex bracket — come by, we'll measure your feet, size the shell and set it up right.

Who It's For

The Track 70 W suits a beginner to intermediate skier whose priority is a boot she can wear all day without pain — particularly a skier with a wide foot, a high instep, or a history of boots that go numb. A flex of 70 is soft: it is easy to bend into a turn and forgiving when your technique gets sloppy at the end of the day.

It is not a boot for driving a stiff ski hard. An advancing skier who is starting to load the front of the boot and finds it collapsing under her will want a higher flex.

Sizing

Ski boots are sized in Mondopoint — the length of your foot in centimetres, not your street shoe size. Rossignol builds this boot in half sizes only; we stock 22.5 through 26.5. The 104 mm last refers to the width across the ball of the foot at a reference size, so a wide foot has room here that a 98 mm race last would not give.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the 104 mm last mean on the Rossignol Track 70?
It is the width of the boot across the widest part of the forefoot. 104 mm is a wide, high-volume fit — the roomiest last Rossignol makes. Narrow-footed skiers usually fit better in a 98 or 100 mm boot.

Does the Track 70 W come with GripWalk soles?
No. The boot is GripWalk compatible, but the GripWalk soles are sold separately. It ships with alpine soles.

Is a flex of 70 too soft?
It depends on you, not on the number. Flex 70 is a soft boot, intended for lighter or less aggressive skiers and for anyone who prioritises comfort. A heavier or more aggressive skier will blow through it.

What is Hike Mode on this boot?
A lever at the back that frees the cuff so it pivots more freely — it makes walking to and from the lift much easier. It is a convenience feature, not a touring walk mode, and this is not a touring boot.
