Stockli Montero AR Skis 2026/2027

The Stöckli Montero AR is an all-mountain ski from the Swiss brand Stöckli, 84 mm underfoot — the Montero made for long arcs, pairing, in Stöckli's words, the line's playful lightness with giant-slalom stability. The sidecut stays 128-84-114 mm in every length, so length choice sets the radius: 14.2 m on the 165, rising to 18.4 m on the 185.

The build is a sandwich: an All Mountain Core of poplar and beech under an aluminum layer. At shovel and tail an S-shaped notch is cut into the metal — the Tip and Tail Flex system — so both ends run softer in flex and torsion, easing a stable ski into the turn; the sheet count itself is not something Stöckli publishes. All Mountain Rocker adds tip versatility and a longer tail rocker eases the release, and underneath sits a Racing-Graphite base with SME light edges, factory tuned at 1.5° base and 2.0° side. A multi-tester group test summed up the ride as damp and stable — like driving a Lexus — carving firmly yet staying smooth through wet snow and bumps.

Independent testers place it at advanced-to-expert; it rewards skiers chasing long, fast arcs on firm snow who want a ski that stays calm when the groomers chop up. It asks for commitment in return: the same group test found it heavy-feeling, needing extra effort to engage, so lighter skiers, or anyone wanting an easy ride at slow speeds, should pass. At 84 mm it handles crud and chop, but float is limited for off-trail-first skiers.
