About the Product
The Rossignol VIZION 4B ELITE 90 W GW is a women's-specific, four-buckle overlap boot built around a genuine 98mm narrow last with a 90-flex shell, plus a cuff that swings wide open at the back for hands-free entry. That rear-opening mechanism — a buckle-actuated steel spine that props the cuff fully open — is not a gimmick. If you've ever sat on a cold bench fighting a stiff alpine boot at 7 a.m., you'll understand immediately why it matters. Once the cuff is locked back into ski position, you're in a traditional four-buckle overlap shell: it drives like one, it holds your ankle like one, and the 90 flex gives you enough resistance to load a ski edge without punishing a skier who isn't hammering GS turns every run. The heat-moldable liner — merino wool and sheepskin construction with a women's-specific inner shoe and lower cuff — wraps a narrow, lower-volume foot well out of the box, and heat molding tightens that fit further so you're not swimming in heel lift. GripWalk soles handle the parking-lot walk without the usual ice-skating moment, though to be clear, that's easier walking, not a ski/walk hike mode — there's no walk hinge here.
This boot was built for the intermediate woman who skis groomed terrain regularly and wants a boot that fits narrow feet without punishing them — not a beginner boot, not a race tool. The catch is the 98mm last: if your foot is wider than that or you carry significant instep volume, this boot will feel compressed even after molding, and the answer is a genuinely wider shell — a 100mm medium last like the Vizion 4B Pro 80 or Pro 90 GW, or a 102mm wide last like the Vizion 4B 80 GW or Pure 70. Don't reach for the Pure Elite to get more room; it's the same 98mm narrow last as this boot. If you are an advanced, aggressive skier who needs real stiffness to drive a demanding ski, 90 flex will feel soft under pressure and you should be looking at a 100-110 flex option. And if you are just getting into buckle boots from ski-school rentals, a 90 flex in a narrow last is still a lot of boot to manage — a softer 80 flex, or a wider last in the same Vizion line, may be a kinder starting point. Come in and get fitted: flex and last width have to match your foot shape, your leg strength, and how you actually ski. A boot that fits perfectly in the shop is the only boot worth buying.
